On August 24, 2018, Timberlake entered a plea of guilty to a reduced charge of reckless driving. He was sentenced to one year of probation and ordered to pay a $600 fine.

In a statement, Timberlake said he was "deeply sorry" for his actions. "I have disappointed myself and my family," he said. "I will continue to strive to be the father, husband and role model that my son deserves."
